Improving punching explosiveness

Striking explosiveness is an essential attribute for any martial artist.

The strength of our arms compose around 20% of our striking power, the 80% left divide between our hip and back rotation and our weight distribution.

Drill:

Strike the bag 3 times in a row with the same hand.

Tips:

• It is recommended, at least in the beginning, to work the bag with wraps and gloves, this will help protect ourselves form injury – both skin and bone wise.

• We want to make sure to utilize our hip when striking, even on the third strike. It is not sufficient to only hit with the arm.

• We should train this exercise with both hands. That way the training is better balanced and we won't over tier one side

• We can use it for training our martial arts conditioning – More ideas in future additions..
